Come rain or shine, there’s so much to see and do in Yorkshire. The county’s countryside and coastline may grab all the headlines but there’s so much more to discover. In the next in our series of holiday guides we shine a light on some of the best events in Yorkshire, and particular those on the Yorkshire Coast.
Are you a music lover? Perhaps you have a passion for food? Or do you just love the great outdoors? We guarantee that one of the many events in Yorkshire will captivate you.
Yorkshire’s events diary is bursting at the seams. There is simply so much to see and do in this magnificent county – from agricultural shows to music festivals (and just about everything in between). So much, in fact, that you won’t be able to fit it all in during your stay. The good news is that our Yorkshire holiday park is the perfect place to see it all! Here we pick out just a handful of our favourite events in Yorkshire…
Great Yorkshire Show, Harrogate
We start with one event that isn’t really that local to us, if we’re being honest, but it’s well worth the trek. This is an iconic 3-day event in July and of the biggest and best agricultural events in the UK.
Each year it welcomes more than 130,000 people who flock to the Great Yorkshire Showground to compete, socialise and celebrate. Expect to see animal classes, livestock, food, trade stands and top class entertainment!
Freedom Festival, Hull
If you’ve booked your stay at our Yorkshire caravan park and are looking for something a little closer to your accommodation then why not head to nearby Hull and catch all the action of the Freedom Festival?
Featuring everything from music, art and theatre, Freedom Festival is fast becoming one of Yorkshire’s premier cultural celebrations. If you’re looking for something a little different then this could well be worth checking out at the end of August
York Food & Drink Festival
York Food Festival run events throughout the year celebrating local and regional food and drink, with the main 10 day festival held at the end of September. The main festival is one of the biggest events in Yorkshire! Get ready for appearances from celebrity chefs and top cookery demonstrations that will leave you feeling inspired.
There’ll also be a chance to purchase some local produce. Why not combine it with a day out exploring this beautiful city?

Held just a short distance from our touring caravan site in Yorkshire, at nearby Sledmere House is Tribfest – the world’s biggest music tribute festival! This festival attracts big crowds and the best tribute bands from all over the planet.
If you’re looking for a fun, family festival that doesn’t take itself too seriously then Tribfest comes highly recommended. There’s also great comedy and food, too!
Scarborough Jazz Festival
One of the biggest events in Yorkshire, the Scarborough Jazz Festival has developed a reputation as the place to see the very best jazz performers in the UK. Held in September at Scarborough Spa, the event spans 3 days and sees dozens of performers take to the stage, with a tremendous finale each evening. Day tickets cost £50 or a weekend ticket is £100. If you love your jazz then this is a must!
Bridlington Kite Festival
Head up the coast from our Yorkshire touring caravan site and you’ll come to the popular seaside town of Bridlington. Held each May is the town’s Kite Festival.
Here internationally renowned kite flyers will fill the skies with magical and colourful displays, alongside highly skilled sequences to a range of music. A wide variety of kites will be flying high including rare Oriental Kites, Indian Fighter Kites and some of the world’s largest inflatables.
On the ground local traders will be cooking up a storm with a range of street food and local produce
