The market town of Beverley is best known for its stunning 13th century church Beverly Minster, but there is plenty more for fun family days, with boutique stores, charming lanes and hidden passages, and white phone boxes that kids will love to spot. Distance: 23 miles
York is a little further away but really worth the journey. It’s a veritable treasure trove with a rich choice of museums and galleries and an equally impressive array of shops. Taste test your way along the Yorkshire Fish & Chip Trail and sample some of the very best chippies in the county. Distance: 53 miles
Bridlington’s Fish & Chips 149 was voted the UK’s top chip shop in 2011; Rags has spectacular views of Bridlington harbour and serves local sea bass and crab. Take a ride up the dramatic cliff top, home of Sewerby Hall & Gardens which is set in 50 acres of parkland with amazing views over Bridlington Bay. The famous Spa Bridlington a famous landmark entertainment venue has been totally transformed with a multi-million pound revamp and hosts great concerts and events. Distance: 29 miles
Located on the south side of the magnificent Flamborough Headland overlooking Bridlington Bay. South Landing beach is a beautiful expanse of sand and white pebbles. It is a perfect spot for a family day out where you can have a picnic. Distance: 33 miles
Scarborough has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years! The seaside resort offers first class attractions such as the award winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, Scarborough Castle and the newly refurbished Scarborough Open Air Theatre – Europe’s largest open air theatre (since Antiquity).
