Fore! Our guide to the best golf courses in East Yorkshire

Golf. It’s a game people love or hate… You’re either in the Mark Twain camp and feel golf is a ‘good walk spoiled’ or you can’t think of anything better than teeing off down a manicured fairway.

If you’re more the latter then you’ve come to the right place! Our Yorkshire holiday park is only a short drive (if you excuse the pun) from some of East Yorkshire’s best golf courses. But which courses should you sample during your stay with us? To help inspire you we’ve put together a mini guide to some of the best courses nearby…

Hornsea Golf Club

Located just a few miles away is Hornsea Golf Club, which is one of the best golf courses in East Yorkshire. Established in 1898, the course is set in secluded parkland. The course is a challenge for golfers of all abilities and offers mature fairways and superb greens.

The KP Club, Pocklington

Head west from our park and, close to the picturesque market town of Pocklington is the highly-regarded KP Club. It has a strong reputation as one of the region’s finest – and with good reason. The 120 acre championship golf course is a challenge for even the most experienced of golfers and regularly plays host to professional and amateur competitions including the William Hunt Trilby Tour for the past three years.

Beverley & East Riding Golf Club

Formed in 1889, this is the oldest in-land golf club in Yorkshire. It is based on the glorious Beverley Westwood pasture land, famous for its landmark Black Mill and Anti-Mill, which their traditional-style Clubhouse is built around. The 18-hole course has a natural layout with elevated tees and greens, plush parkland and mature trees. It boasts outstanding views of the town and surrounding countryside from many vantage points.

Ganton Golf Club

OK, so this golf course isn’t in East Yorkshire but we can’t write about the region’s finest courses without mentioning Ganton. Located in North Yorkshire, near Pickering, there can be no doubt that it is worth the trip north. This alluring and captivating in-land course is without doubt one of the best and captivates all who play here. Over the years it has hosted Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and Curtis Cup matches, such is its quality and beauty.
